St. Mary Central Catholic Athletic & Achievement Hall of Fame

The St. Mary Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame was founded in April of 2000 by Mr. Mike Opfer. The Hall was created to honor former outstanding athletes, those that have excelled in their careers after SMCC, and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the athletic program and the greater SMCC community. The Hall also seeks to preserve and promote the rich traditions that make St. Mary Central Catholic High School a unique and valued member of our community. The Hall also helps connect the present with the past and promote the positive aspects of Catholic education in our area.

The Selection Process

The selection process for the SMCC Hall of Fame begins when a graduate or community member is officially nominated by submission of a nomination form.  Only those nominated by the public are considered for induction into the Hall of Fame.  The Hall of Fame Committee does not select individuals for nomination or consider for induction anyone they wish.  The committee can only discuss and vote on graduates or community members who have been previously nominated by the public at large. Once an individual has been nominated, they are on file and remain eligible for consideration forever.  There are currently over 150 individuals on file with the Hall of Fame.

Athletes may only be considered for induction ten years after graduation.

Nomination forms can be found in our office.
