The St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers delivered a strong offensive showing on Saturday, defeating Toledo Christian 11-7 behind a standout performance from Brylie Gill, who drove in five runs on two key hits. Gill made her impact early and often, delivering a three-run single in the second inning before adding two more RBIs with another single in the sixth. SMCC broke the game open in the top of the second inning, capitalizing on patience at the plate and timely hitting. Audriella Walton got things started with an RBI single, followed by bases-loaded walks from Serissa Dante and Brittney Rhoads. Gill then capped off the inning with her three-run hit, giving the Panthers a commanding lead. Rhoads earned the win in the circle, tossing a complete game. She allowed seven hits and seven runs—none of them earned—while striking out six and issuing no walks in a composed performance. At the plate, Gill and Laney Torres led the way with two hits apiece. The Panthers showed excellent discipline, drawing 10 walks as a team. Rhoads, Rae Roth, Gianna Flewelling, and Dante each reached base twice via walk. SMCC also applied pressure on the bases, swiping seven steals, with both Rhoads and Torres recording multiple stolen bases.
