Congratulations to senior golfer Blake Finneran on his commitment to John Carroll University. The JCU Blue Streaks are a Division III university competing in the North Coast Athletic Conference. For Golf: Blake is a 2x State Qualifier and holds the school record for lowest 18-hole score at -5 under par (66). He was named SBC Player of the Year (2025), was a member of the SBC Championship team (2025) and Sectional Runner-up team (2025), and has recorded multiple medalist rounds. He is also a TJGA winner, a 3x SBC 1st Team selection, a 1x SBC 2nd Team selection, and has earned District honors. Blake also had an outstanding swim season, finishing 10th place in Division II at the OHSAA State Diving Championships, earning All-Ohio status. In addition, Blake is a member of the SMCC basketball and baseball teams, where he plays a key role. Holding a 4.6 GPA, Finneran is also a member of the school’s Academic Challenge team, demonstrating that his competitive drive extends well beyond athletics. Lastly, per his father and coach Sean Finneran, "Beyond sports and academics, Blake is deeply committed to his faith. He serves his Catholic parish as both a Eucharistic minister and an altar server, roles that reflect his leadership and reverence within the Church community. He also helps lead Kairos, a retreat experience designed for the senior class that focuses on faith, reflection, and building meaningful relationships. His involvement in Kairos highlights his desire not only to grow personally but to help guide and mentor younger students in their spiritual journeys."
